Your family is the most important part of your life and addressing family matters is the utmost priority for our clients. When families are broken by separation or divorce and a member of that family becomes a client of our firm, we are prepared to treat you with the respect that you deserve. We also acknowledge that emotions run very high and that a client's most precious assets, their children, shall be affected by the outcome of family law litigation. The laws of Texas allow and encourage parents and spouses to work together and cooperate so as to determine the outcome of their family law case, whether that means dividing up assets during a divorce or determining the manner in which their children shall have access to both parents, post-divorce or separation.
Clients must live with the decisions which are made as to how to treat their spouse, or the parent of their children, during the course of family law litigation. In most instances, the law presumes that the children are best served by having frequent and regular contact with both parents. Advice which is given by our firm and which must be impressed upon our clients is that parents of children must think what will be in the child's best interest in the long-run, not just the weeks or months ahead while a client's case is still in Court, but all the way through high-school and beyond. Clients are encouraged to reflect on the fact that their child has two parents and that the child's relationship with both parents is special and should be preserved.
